ΜACS Lift (Minimal Access Crania l Suspension Lift)

The MACS Lift is an innovative surgical facelift technique ideal for reducing minor sagging in specific areas and producing more natural results.

This contemporary mini lift is performed through a minimal incision and, among its benefits are a quicker recovery process and the nearly invisible scars compared to traditional facelift techniques.

MACS Lift technique

The MACS Lift technique involves an incision in front of the ear. Keeping the incision and dissection of sagging tissues to a minimum, it eliminates the possibility of causing nerve dysfunction.

Two or three permanent sutures are used to keep the deeper structure of the face in place. To gain further improvement, a MACS Lift can also be combined with mini-liposuction around the chin and neck.

What to expect after surgery

  • Possible swelling and some bruising – usually last 1 week.

Risks and Side Effects

You can expect similar risks and side effects with the Traditional Facelift, just to a lesser extent. Choosing a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon to perform the operation minimizes the possibilities of risks and side effects. However, possible complications and risks include a sense of numbness behind the ears, temporary skin discoloration around the incisions, and dysfunction to the nerves that controls facial muscles, which is usually temporary. All the above gradually subside and eventually return to normal.

Useful Information

  • The pain is usually minimal and easily controlled with painkillers.
  • The sutures will gradually be removed within two weeks after surgery to minimize scarring.
  • Good skin quality helps post-operatively and contributes significantly to the final result. Women with very dehydrated skin before surgery can improve overall skin quality by increasing hydration with facial and laser treatments.
  • Quitting smoking 1-2 weeks before and after your surgery helps skin healing.
